Cecilie Scoppa (b.1989 DK) I am an artist working with photography and sculpture to approach topics such as physical ideals, deformation, and how we unconsciously modify ourselves with wearable objects and design.

Having graduated from the Jewelry Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2015, I am now working in both Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
I am interested in stretching our perception of jewelry and its relation to the body. I look at how jewelry shapes and frames its wearer and I question whether it is the body who wears jewelry, or the jewelry who wears a body. How does jewelry cover, hide, and alter, and what is left for us to see of the person underneath it?
Furthermore, how do many of the designs we wear and interact with daily shape and deform our bodies and identities without our even noticing?
